A)Primary:-

    Although it can be painful and sometimes debilitating for a short time, it is not harmful.
  • Primary dysmenorrhea is the name given to frequently occurring menstrual cramps that occur over and over again. The pain usually starts a day or two before your period or when the bleeding starts. due to this, you may experience Back pain, stomach pain, and pain in the thigh.

Secondary:-

  • Secondary dysmenorrhea is painful menstruation that is often associated with pelvic pathology.
  • It is menstrual pain that is generally related to some type of Gynecological disease; Most of these disorders can be easily treated with medication or surgery. they affect women in adulthood.
  • there is a possibility that a person may suffer from primary dysmenorrhea also develop Secondary dysmenorrhea and more pain because of it.
Causes of Primary & Secondary Dysmenorrhea

1) Being under 20 years of age.
2) A family history of painful periods
3) Smoking
4) Seavy bleeding with irregular menstruation
5) Never had a baby before
6) puberty before age 11

Causes of Secondary Dysmenorrhea:-
An ovarian cyst or tumor
The use of an intrauterine device (IUD)
Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID)
Endometriosis
A sexually transmitted infection (STI)

Symptoms

The main symptom of dysmenorrhea is pain. symptoms of secondary Dysmenorrhea may occur earlier than primary Dysmenorrhea. Dysmenorrhea usually lasts longer.

Common symptoms for Dysmenorrhea:-

  • Low back pain
  • Nausea
  • Pain in the lower
  • abdomen
  • Vomiting
  • Fatigue
